Housing Benefit/ Local Housing Allowance
If you're on a low income and need financial help to pay all or part of your rent, you may be able to get
Housing Benefit.

Housing benefit is paid by the local council and is based on the level of rent, your income, savings and
personal circumstances and those living in your house.

You can claim housing benefit even if you do not receive any other benefits.

You may be eligible for housing benefit if you are receiving:
•        Income Support / Jobseeker's Allowance / Employment Support Allowance
•        Pension Credit
•        or if you are on a low income

Do we accept Housing Benefit / DSS tenants ? Yes
Please note you must have your own deposit  in the first instance and in certain cases we will accept a
lower deposit than we required (normally we require 1 month + 1 month) or we will accept the deposit /
rent in advance paid by the local council  if you are renting under the Sponsored Tenancy scheme.
In addition to the above there is a requirement to set up a direct debit to pay the future rent if you qualify
to receive the rent direct under the local housing allowance scheme.

If we accept you as a tenant and you are planning to claim Housing Benefit, you will need to fill in a form,
which you can get from the local council housing benefit office and we can assist you to fill that form.

We also accept tenants on Council Sponsored Schemes
